Kobe stays in Lakers

Kobe is sure to hold on his lakers jersey for next three years. He said he had no thoughts about going elsewhere even while speculation had suggested otherwise.

The deal means the Lakers achieved two main objectives going into the season — signing Bryant and Pau Gasol to extensions. “We were able to accomplish those goals, helping to keep the core of this team intact for the foreseeable future and in turn help to ensure the franchise’s continued success over the years to come,” General manager Mitch Kupchak said Friday on the team’s Web site. Financial terms of Bryant’s deal weren’t announced. Gasol signed earlier in the season. The 31-year Bryant could have terminated the last two years of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent last July. He could have secured a new, longer deal if he had opted out, but he wouldn’t have necessarily made more money.

Coach Phil Jackson said he expected that Kobe would sign. It's a good choice for him and the organization.

Earl Thomas meeting with several teams

According to an NFL source with knowledge of the situation, Earl Thomas plans to meet with Miami Dolphins on Tuesday night at the University of Texas.

And Thomas is also set to visit the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday and Friday. Thomas has previously conducted a private workout for the New England Patriots in Austin.
At 5-foot-10, 208 pounds, Thomas has outstanding instincts, range and is a physical tackler. He’s also being evaluated as a cornerback prospect by some NFL teams. Tomas ran the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds at the NFL scouting combine, also bench pressing 225 pounds 21 times. He also has been scheduled for several other visits, including Chiefs, Jaguars, Browns and the Titans.

Look for Thimas to go in the first round, perhaps higher than originally anticipated. We wonder which kind of the NFL jersey he will wear.

Free-agent FS Darren Sharper with saints jersey told public that he still has not made a visit to another team.

Coach Sean Payton told the paper they’ll see. they’ll do that process, Certainly he’s a guy who was a big factor in our success a year ago. You know he’s a guy who not only us, (but) I’m sure a handful of teams are paying attention to.

We would have to be very convinced that he would have no risk.” Earlier this year, Rolle indicated that he was essentially hanging up his cleats, barring some kind of medical breakthrough.

Rolle said he had two neck surgeries and at his age if some one show him scientifically that he can't hurt himself, then, he will quit.

Nets' paper-bagged fan

A fan wore a paper bag over his head during the loss of the players with nets jerseys. Chief executive argued with the fan and said he had no regrets about his behaviour.

CEO Brett Yormack said in a statement Tuesday he wanted to let the fan know he didn’t agree with the way he was expressing his opinion. Yormark approached the fan during a 99-89 loss to Miami on Monday night. He asked why he was wearing the bag. When the fan told him because the Nets were so good, Yormark exchanged words and pointed a finger at him. The fan held up his tickets, and Yormark walked away.

The nets are on the edge of the record for fewest wins in an NBA season. Yormack said despite the frustrations he will continue to stand up for the organization.

He could no longer play at the elite level he had been in Pittsburgh.

Players better start saving

Some players with nba jerseys could become free agents in the summer of 2012.

But that assumes the NBA will actually get to the summer of ’12 in one piece. “You have to convince these guys that it’d be best if players went into next year with as little debt as possible,” the agent said.“I have to follow it,” Williams told SN. “I wish I didn’t, I wish it were not an issue. But there is going to be a lockout, so of course it worries me. We know it is probably coming, so we had better be prepared for it.”

He did, however, say “the thing that disgusts me the most” was feeling that he let the franchise and its fans down, especially during a playoff chase.

“It was way out of character for me,” Wright said, his eyes reddening. “I definitely apologize.”

L.T. to call Jets

LaDainian Tomlinson seems to wear jets jersey. He is running a sweep route toward the Jets.

The former San Diego Chargers star running back reportedly enjoyed his meeting with the Vikings. "If the Jets really want Tomlinson, they’ll have to bring it," Sports Illustrated’s Jim Trotter wrote on his Twitter account. "Vikes really wowed him. Said he could see himself playing there." After jettisoning Thomas Jones, the Jets could use some depth. However, they are expecting Leon Washington back from his broken leg. And the Vikings envision Tomlinson as a potential replacement for Chester Taylor, who signed with the Chicago Bears.

Tomlinson reportedly has other pending visits set up, but, for now, it’s between the Jets and the Vikings in a battle of the boardroom.

Westbrook shines

With the thunder jersey and a pair of bright orange bracelet on each wrist during games, Westbrook shines on the court.

For someone who has repeatedly proven his skeptics and doubters wrong, Westbrook clings to that simple mantra. “ ‘Why not’ is how I think, how I go about things,” Westbrook said. “It goes with everything I do, how I play and off the court with the decisions I make.” “He was too small,” said Miami Heat swingman Dorell Wright, a former Leuzinger teammate of Westbrook’s. “He worked on his body. He always had a good basketball IQ, always tough. But he was always too small, too"

“He gets me going every game,” Durant said. “Without him I’m sure I couldn’t do some of the things I’m doing now. People are going to start asking me, ‘Is Russell Westbrook starting to over-shine you now?’ ”

From The Dallas Morning News: You got to sacrifice certain things to get that ultimate goal, and that’s a ring, the hardware," Marion said. "Once you get that hardware, nobody can say anything to you. That’s what I want my legacy to be. I want that ring."

"I’m a competitor. I want to go back at [players he guards], too. And sometimes you don’t get the chance to do that. But that’s what you sacrifice. And you got to deal with it. When you get that W, all the other stuff means nothing."

Instead of LeBron James, rookie Brandon Jennings with bucks jersey sporting a new dyed red mohawk did all the strutting.

The 20-year-old point guard scored 25 points and the Milwaukee Bucks beat Cleveland 92-85 on Saturday night, with James reduced to a spectator on the bench and limping noticeably when he walked from it.“Right now, I’m playing for something bigger,” Jennings said. “Main thing is get to playoffs, having the city start believing in us and keep going on from there.” “He’s logged a lot of minutes. If you don’t include this game, we play one game in a week,” Brown said. “For me, this is a great opportunity to rest him and a great opportunity for some other guys to have an opportunity to step up.”

“We know what the overall picture is,” Jamison said. “He’s a part of that.”

Bucks new deal

John Salmons with bucks jersey had an unexpected night off last month in New York.

Salmons’ attention was divided between his Smokehouse burger and watching the Chicago Bulls, the team that told him to stay behind just hours before the trade deadline. For the second time in as many years, Salmons knew he was switching teams midseason. It didn’t take long to figure out he was headed to Milwaukee, and it’s taken him even less time to make an impact.

“We’re not just trying to make the playoffs, we’re trying to move up in the standings,” Salmons said. “If we all stay together, continue to grow, we can only get better and try to make a push.”

Durant's matchup

Kevin Durant with thunder jersey is 6 feet, 9 inches tall and lots of defenders thought it's not true.

Brooks said he made the move because he wanted Durant-then just beginning his second NBA season-to focus on learning one position and he thought small forward was the most natural fit. “He’s just a real tough matchup. When you talk about matchups, you look at Kobe and LeBron and Dwyane Wade or Carmelo and then obviously he’s right there,” said Gentry, the Phoenix Suns coach. “Of course, the thing that they don’t have that he has is he’s got such length. He’s almost a 7-foot guy. That’s the bottom line.”

“I think their team likes for him to score and looks for him in all different ways. He’s going to be a terror in this league for the next 15 to 20 years.”

Wes Welker is going to return

Wide receiver Wes Welker with patriots jersey moved out more than three weeks from having knee injury. And his road to recovery has had no bumps. A league source told the Boston Herald that Welker is doing "very well", considering how early he is in the rehabilitation process.

There are no guarantees that Welker will be ready to play when the season begins because of the severe nature of repairing a torn left ACL. With Welker’s health something New England officials will watch closely all season and the long-term status of Randy Moss in question, it increases the chances a team will select a wide receiver in the early parts of the 2010 draft.

Feely open to returning to Jets

Feely with colts jersey helped the team reach the Super Bowl as an injury replacement for Adam Vinatieri.

Now that the Jets have signed Nick Folk and Feely is a free agent after turning down an offer from the Jets, it seems like the AFC East franchise has moved on. From his standpoint, Feely isn’t giving up on the possibility that he could possibly come back to compete with Folk for the job. "I appreciate all the support from the Jets fans," Feely wrote today on his Twitter account. "I have truly enjoyed being a Jet and my sincere wish is to be one til the end of my career."

Feely now must be prudent enough that he will bekicking for the Jets this season.

Don Nelson's job is safe

The Wrriors are 16-39 and as the most cases we always see, this would get the coach fired.

But the Warriors are not most cases, as CSNBayArea.com’s Matt Steinmetz found out when he spoke to GM Larry Riley: “As far as we’re concerned, I’ve seen him in a lot of situations,” Riley answered. “He has not lost the ability to coach or forgotten how to put teams together as far as strategy and using lineups and so forth. “He’s going to get the record. But at the same time, if it wasn’t for that, I’d still like him as a coach. And I like the style of play that we use. And it’s important that we continue to go forward with that style of play, and he’s the guy to coach it.”

It is sure that Don Nelson’s job is safe. The players with warriors jerseys will be still coached by him.

He’s busted his tail to get where he is. He was a graduate assistant at Syracuse, so I knew about him there and the coaches were very favorably impressed by what he was able to accomplish there.”

"I’ll be around, I’ll be working out, and I love being with the Giants," Cofield told the Newark, N.J., Star-Ledger. "I wish it was a long-term thing. Durant is popular

Kevin Durant with No.35 thunder jersey would have a better chance to show his professional if he worked in street clothes.

If only Durant led the Thunder from the sideline, in loe-cut Cole Haans rather than those swooshy sneakers, in a coat and tie rather than his blue-and-orange skiwies. As it stands, his head coach, Scott Brooks, has a better chance of taking home personal hardware than does his precocious superstar.

Johnson meets the tragedy

Woody Johnson watches his team practice as he usually does.

he New York Jets owner is a win away from the Super Bowl, but it has been a bittersweet postseason -- one during which he had to bury his daughter, Casey. "This has been a brutal couple of weeks, personally," Johnson said softly, his eyes watery. "I think what you do is, what I found myself doing, is it's two different worlds," he said. "That's the way you can handle it. One doesn't really help the other. The other's the reality. I mean, I lost a daughter. There's no way to bring her back or any of that." "I don't think it makes it any more difficult for me," Johnson said of his daughter's highly publicized death. "It really doesn't affect the outcome. It's the outcome. Former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy questioned the process carried by the Redskins that they interviewed assistant coach Jerry Gray for the head-coaching position when Jim Zorn was still on that position.

It seemed to be against the Rooney Rule. "That is not what the Rooney Rule is supposed to be, (that) you make up your mind and then interview a candidate for it anyway just to satisfy the rule," said Dungy, who retired from coaching last year and now is an analyst on NBC's Football Night in America. "If the Jerry Gray situation is the way it has been described as happening, I don't think it was fair. I don't think I would ever interview for a job if my boss was not out of the job. I don't blame Jerry; it's the position he was put in, if it happened that way."

We encourage all candidates to enter the interview under the proper procedures. Rules always needed and it does good to all the players with NFL jerseys
